I am not from South Carolina, I am from California and a Veteran of the United States Army. These terrorists should be tried in a military tribunal. These “people” committed an act of war against Us and they should be treated as Prisoners of War…..they should not have the same rights as American Citizens. Obama and his circle of friends need to let this type of justice run its course as it has for 233 years….if it is an act of war treat is as such, do not make it a photo op and a grandstand to demean the Bush Administration…..This is a slap in the face to America!!!!!!

Dear Gresham: I am a retired Police Detective (34 years Narcotics). We’ve allowed far too many illegals and immigrants into this country that do NOT contribute and all they want to do is TAKE & TAKE from the system! I am sick and tired of elected officials like Pelosi, Fienstien, Waxman and Obama & his cronies who want to suck money from our tax payers and they themselves get all the Perks and benefits. Pelosi should be ashamed of herself! We need a STRONG republican Governor in SC! We need term limits for Congress & the House. Entitlements and all the benefits elected officials receive must Stop! If Obama & the democrats want the Health Bill they are trying to shove down our throats then their Health Plan will be the same as all other Americans! I do NOT feel anyone at GITMO should be allowed in any state. If Mr. Obama wants to ‘close down GITMO’, he should send them right back to the countries they are from! As a matter of fact, Mr. Obama can send them to any country who feels the USA is wrong politivally.

I DID NOT spend all my 69 years in this country, 8 years Navy, to pay
for someone elses medical expenses. I and my wife were self payers
since I got out of the service in 1965 until my retirement. My wife still is a self payer.
Aside from the government paper work , insured people abuse that system, whether welfare or a health plan.
They have been taught to do so, by the AMA and others.
Until America can be educated on when to see a doctor, I will never condone
universal health care.
AS far as sending detainees to ANYWHERE in the USA , He, OBAMA, is an idiot. People with less help escape from prison everyday in America, what is in place to insure that this will not happen in South Carolina. Remember the black panthers ? We hate to see you leave Washington, but who could blame you. Your inaguration as Governor will be the first one I have attended.
We don’t need terrorists in SC we need to drill here, drill now and pay less so we can become free of foreign oil. Keep the terrorists in Gitmo. If they are brought to the SC or anywhere in the US they then have certain rights that in no way should be available to them.
I think I have the perfect solution for the Gitmo detainees. Send them to Yucca Mountain. Since Harry Reid has been instrumental in derailing the use of Yucca Mountain for nuclear waste disposal, maybe he should salvage the billions already spent and paid for by our electric utilities companies by storing the equally toxic terrorists in his own state. Also, I hear there are a lot of empty hotel rooms in Las Vegas.

Thank you, Mr. Barrett. My husband and I plan to retire in SC next year and have already purchased a home there. We strongly oppose bringing enemy combatants to our shores, and especially to SC. Would Mr. Obama want those people brought close to where his children live (given, of course that they had no Secret Service protection?) I think not. Well, I don’t want them near where my children and grandchildren live either!

Since I’ve heard this announcement earlier today I’ve thought of how nice it would be if Harry Reid would volunteer his home state for housing the terrorist detainees. He and his liberal pals seem to have great concern for the care and treatment of these terrorists and we’d like for him to look in on them from time to time when he visits his home state.
We don’t want them in South Carolina any more than the New Yorkers want the ones going on trial in NYC in the distant future.

What blows my mind is why are they moving the terrorists from one prison which they say is “state of the arts” to another prison? This doesn’t make sense, it just moving them from one place to another. What good does this do? Obama doesn’t know what he is doing? Lord, I thought that he would at least be competent, but right now I think he is the most incompetent president we have every had. All he does is fly around in Air Force 1.
