Do what's right for America; the heck with party lines! Polls show that the average American doesn't want their healthcare "reformed" nor do they believe in "cap and trade" except for the benefit of Al Gore, GE, and select others.
People are sick and tired of the status quo; we are ready to go rogue. The tsunami is building...will you be with us or simply another "say anything to get elected" politician?
Time will tell

With regards to health care, why do we pay double what citizens in other industrialized countries pay? I cannot find a single health care metric that indicates we have the best system. And no, before you say it, tort reform and malpractice insurance and not the problems. I have read the studies on this and they all conclude that this is a very small part of my health care dollar.

Farms in America, South Carolina is hurting. Farmers can no longer afford to fertilize, raise their crops, animals, or keep their property. Even the hobbyist cannot get by. Corporate America has stopped using their money to finance construction or farm equipment and allowed banks to handle financing. They have pushed “The American Dream” out the door for the private man or family and allowed corporation to take over. We have more than a million and half dollars worth of machinery sitting on Oconee Implements stock yards, in Westminster, South Carolina; that they have taken from construction yards, landscapers, or farms who can’t afford to keep the things they need to support their family. We didn’t sell the equipment, Corporate doesn’t have enough stock yard room for the machinery, so they place it on various yards. For the first time in more than sixty years of business we are in debt that is how bad the economy is! The farmer is the heart of America and private business is the dream of America. If you can be debt free for fifty-nine years and have to borrow money, which tells you apart of the story of how bad it is! In truth we are in fear of losing our business, dream home, and most of all the people that have worked for us for years. We had to borrow money to make the payroll last year. What are we in for this year and the coming years? Will we make it? Bail out money for first time home owners, Junk car money, where is the help for farmers? Where is the help for private business, the common man? Insurance is only apart of the story of a situation in which a difficult choice has to be made between two alternatives, success or failure. Barrettt is our man! Andrea England Duke from Small town USA

Mr. Barret,
What I am concerned with is the lack of jobs that are in our area. This is very frustrating as now I am facing a layoff at my plant, and I know I am just one person in this group. For instance, why on earth did we loose out on the contract bid here in Aiken for the Carbon motors plant to build police vehicles? Why wasn't our leadership heavily consulting with the powers that be of Carbon Motors and finding out what would tip the scales in the decision? This would have provided MANY jobs for the CSRA and I feel that we have lost out. I am a conservative and I hope that our present and future leaders can attract more jobs in our area. I think the reason that the Obama administration is so attractive to the masses is because they are giving candy to the poor-it tasts sweet and lasts for a little while, but in the long run it doesn't have any real nutritional value and is gone before you know it. If Republicans want to be successful with votes, they must do things such as attract jobs AGGRESIVELY to this area and not just hold a meeting with business executives. We MUST improvise, adapt and think outside of the box with the current job market in order to overcome.

1) Control fraud within the Medicare/Medicaid program with serious jail time - even if you are a politician
2) Control our borders, illegals ARE covered by our medical programs, REQUIRE citizenship ID before treatment, excluding children
3) Abortion should NOT be funded by ANY government medical program
4) Our military should be given orders to surge through. Rebuilding can be done afterwards. The Taliban/AlQaeda masked cowards use their children/women for coverage. Colleral damage is sometimes necessary to win a war and help the country's people.
5) The members of congress should be on the same programs we are. They are no better and came from the people - should remain with the people
6)Repubs stick together for what our party stands far. Too much pocket padding before votes are submitted.
7) Fight to prevent this health care bill, as it is, to pass. We won't be able to keep our current insurance because the companies we work or are retired under will do smart business and pay the lesser fines/taxes.
8) Stop thinking the people are stupid. No way taxes will not increase or existing programs not be cut to pay for this shameful, harmful health bill as it is written.
9) Incorporate the TARP plan. Put a cap on the amount of awards. So much stupidity and waste in this area. The lawyers are happy though and what is the Senate made up of - lawyers
BASICALLY, DO WHAT IS RIGHT FOR AMERICA AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. KEEP OUR JOBS HERE. TAKE CARE OF OUR OWN BEFORE TAKING CARE OF OTHERS. STOP WASTEFUL SPENDING. WE LIVE ON A BUDGET, WASHINGTON SHOULD TOO. SO SIMPLE TO BE MADE SO COMPLICATED BY VERY EDUCATED PEOPLE. KEEP GOD IN AND OVER OUR COUNTRY!
