(A letter from Katherine Barrett Maxwell)
Dear Friend,
You may have no idea who I am.
And you’re definitely wondering why I’m writing. Well, hopefully I
can clear that up. I’m Gresham Barrett’s big sister and I’m writing
because his 49th birthday is coming up fast – this Sunday, February 14th
to be exact.
So naturally, I’m hoping you can help us make it an extra special
birthday by clicking here and making a super-generous contribution to his campaign!
You know, none of us – his Mom, Dad, brother, sister or me – ever
imagined Gresham would grow up and run for Governor. We all knew he was
capable of great things. We just figured it was in business, on the
baseball diamond or on the football field.
We were close.
Gresham was, in fact, was named MVP in this year’s congressional
baseball game. But like his brother told him- beating up on Nancy Pelosi,
Barney Frank, and Charlie Rangel might be a great thing for the country.
It’s just not exactly a ticket to Cooperstown!
All kidding aside, Gresham is #1 in my book! He’s a loving father, a
dedicated husband, a true leader, and a cherished brother. He’s going to
make a great Governor for South Carolina. So, here’s what I’m asking of
his closest friends: make this 49th birthday one to remember. And make my
little email a success by clicking here and making a contribution today!!!
It won’t be long before you start seeing those big Barrett for Governor
signs and my brother’s ads on TV. But they’re not free. And your contribution will turn them from a concept into a reality. So thanks for hearing me out. And thanks for pitching in to make Gresham’s 49th birthday special. I really appreciate it. And I know he does, too.
Sincerely,
Katherine (Barrett) Maxwell
