The State: Barrett: My plan to harness energy opportunities

Energy is a part of everything we do, whether we realize it or not. Washing clothes, taking a hot shower and simply watching your favorite baseball team on television all require energy. It is a pillar of our economy, a key component of commerce and essential to our daily lives.

We often take energy for granted – except when it gets expensive. Then we all feel the impact. As energy prices go up, the cost of doing business goes up and consumer activity falls accordingly, often dramatically. To make matters worse, our country is heavily reliant on unstable and oftentimes unfriendly foreign nations for our energy resources. Consequently, we are subject to their interests, not our own, which compromises both our economic and national security.

Dear Gresham,

I just wanted to drop you a note and say thanks for everything you’ve done the past couple weeks. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your willingness to immediately stand up for me in the heat of battle.

Specifically, I want to thank you for writing the President and urging him to live up to his word by calling on his Democratic colleagues to end their attacks. I also want to express my gratitude to you for both your public and private statements of support during these past few weeks.

You and I have stood shoulder-to-shoulder in the conservative cause. Together, we fought the administration’s massive stimulus package. Together, we took on the excessive spending in Washington and together, we have worked to bring about the real health care reform our hard-working families deserve.

Thanks again for your support and I look forward to working with you in future.

Sincerely,

Joe Wilson
U.S. Representative

True to His Word

Semper Fidelis.

It means always faithful, and in the Marine Corps, it is more than a motto. It is a way of life.

The same holds true for Gresham Barrett. He is a good man and a strong leader who is true to his word, his convictions, his family, and his country.

Statement from Barrett for Governor Campaign Finance Co-Chair Barry Wynn

Barrett for Governor Campaign Finance Co-Chair Barry Wynn released the following statement last night regarding the debate:

“Tonight, Gresham Barrett proved why he is uniquely qualified to lead South Carolina’s economic turnaround. He is the only candidate who has run a small business, led as a Captain in the U.S. Army, and served at both the state and federal level in elected office. Those experiences have prepared Gresham to serve our state as Governor in these challenging times.”

A Breath of Fresh Air

From Barrett for Governor Political Director, Justin Stokes:

Dear Fellow Republicans:

A breath of fresh air.

It’s exactly what our Party and State needs in our next leader. And it’s exactly what Gresham Barrett displayed at tonight’s debate.

Gresham proved why he is hands-down the best candidate to bring real, conservative reform to Columbia.

His experiences as a small business owner, Captain in the U.S. Army, and elected official at the state and federal levels make him uniquely qualified to start leading on day one. His commitment to conservative principles and having a campaign of solutions elevates him above the rest.

First Gubernatorial Debate This Tuesday!

On Tuesday night, Gresham will square off against the other Republicans in the First Gubernatorial Debate at the Newberry Opera House.

While the debate is sold out, we’ve got the next best thing going. Come out to the Opera House beforehand to show your support for Gresham and then join us to watch the debate from Flying Pie Pizza in Newberry. After the debate is over, stick around to meet and greet Gresham.

Time for the President, Democrats in Congress to Face the Facts
