Major General (Ret.) James Livingston, Medal of Honor recipient, sent out the following message earlier today.

Dear Friend,

Semper Fidelis.

It means always faithful, and in the Marine Corps, it is more than a motto. It is a way of life.

The same holds true for Gresham Barrett. He is a good man and a strong leader who is true to his word, his convictions, his family, and his country.

I know a thing or two about challenges and the leadership needed to overcome them. I was blessed to humbly serve this country for more than thirty-three years in the United States Marine Corps. I led men into battle in Vietnam, and I retired as a Major General. Through my experiences, I have learned that, at its core, leadership is about character.

Throughout his life as a military man, a family man, a small businessman and public servant, Gresham Barrett has demonstrated the strong character our state needs in its next Governor during these challenging times.

I am convinced that Gresham is the leader our state needs. But, he cannot get there without our help.

I know times are tough right now. I know money is tight. But, to help get Gresham elected, to help turn South Carolina around and clean up the mess in Columbia we need a contribution from you. Whether $500, $100, $50 or $10 – your contribution will make a tremendous difference in his campaign. Contributing is easy. All you have to do is click here.

As our next Governor, Gresham will focus on making the Palmetto State the South’s leading economic development engine again, re-establishing the Port of Charleston as the central gateway between the east coast and the world, reforming our tax structure, reducing spending, recruiting new business, and rewarding companies who already call South Carolina home by providing them unique opportunities to grow and expand.

Tomorrow marks a crucial fundraising deadline. So, if you too stand with this good man – if you believe in a bigger and brighter future for this great state – it is especially important that you contribute today.

Thank you for your time and your consideration.

Sincerely,

Major General (Ret) James Livingston
Medal of Honor Recipient
